The Adult Novelty Company Overhaul and Expansion

The new year at Adult Novelty Company Inc. and Simpe Desires has been filled growth and overhaul.

It all began in January 2009 with the re-design of both of our websites. We knew we already featured the best all inclusive online community and toy site, but Zoe never rests on her laurels. She has set out to make the sites even better and she sure has. The reviews are in and they are raving. Now we are expanding our product lines and inventory to include over 20,000 toys. This amazing task has taken our web team just a few short weeks to initiate, but the task remains on-going. Guess it is all part of staying on top.

What you will also see this year is increased sponsorship of like minded organizations and events. While the web team is working thier butts off so is the marketing team. You can see our people at more events than ever. You might have seen them at their regular apperances in Mass. and at the Parliment House in Orlando, FL. Be looking for a roll out and expansion of our commission programs and watch for our press release on our ground breaking program for non-profits.

Things are already shaping up for a very hot year for us. There is so much excitement in both the New England office and the Florida office. It feels really good or maybe that is just my new Fleshlight. Ahh....the joys of product testing.

The Mathew Shepard Hate Crimes Prevention Act (S. 1105) would add Sexual Orientation, Gender, Gender Identity, and Disability to the current Hate Crimes statutes. The bill would give local law enforcement more resources to prosecute and prevent violent crimes committed against a person because of their sexual orientation or gender identity. As a constituent, and a supporter of the Human Rights Campaign, I hope the Senator will vote YES on the Matthew Shepard Act (S. 1105).

I hope the Senator understands that this bill does NOT threaten free speech or weaken the Constitution.

This bill would only apply to violent attacks based on the victim's gender, sexual orientation, disability or gender identity.

It would also provide funding to help law enforcement agencies investigate and prosecute violent hate crimes. This legislation has been endorsed by over 230 civic, religious, and law enforcement organizations.

I hope the Senator will do the right thing and vote YES on S. 1105 when it comes to a vote.

Heat up the Summer!

Well I guess summer has finally arrived in New England. It is a hot day at our offices here. Work related travel has slowed down some for the time being. Of course we are always setting our sights ahead to the next big event...or two!

So this fall (October 2007) we are headed back to Florida. We will be in both Key West and Orlando respectively. Adult Novelty Company and Simple Desires representatives will be headed to both Bear Bust and Fantasy Fest this October.

This weeks planing meeting focused on getting ready for both of these events. This was the first in a series of planning meetings that will be focused on both of these large events. For those who are wondering, our planning meetings are in typical laid back New England fashion. Sometimes around a campfire with great food, great drinks, and great minds. It is out of these type of meetings that some of our greatest ideas grow and come to fruition.

My role here in this company is nothing like what you would imagine a corporate position to be. For one, every day is casual Friday and some days we stretch the limit of what is "casual attire." The only time we are subject to a dress code is at some events. At those times, the dress code is a "What's Your Fetish?" t-shirt. Yes I love my job. On the downside, we don't really slow down in the summer like some jobs. There is always planning for the next event and we keep growing our company. Growth is aparently a lot of work!

Support the Matthew Shepard Act

Well with all the gay and lesbian stuff you must read about on my blog you might be tempted to think that www.AdultNoveltyCompany.com is owned by gays and/or lesbians. In fact, it is not. Only one of the three owners falls into this catagory. The company is, however, owned by sex positive people who each believe in the end to discrimination at any level.

Likewise, I am posting about this potential piece of legilsation. The Matthew Sheppard Act (To learn more about Matthew Sheppard click here>>> ). This bill is bi-partisan sponsored by both Sen. Gordon Smith (R-Ore) and Sen. Edward Kennedy (D-Mass) and would add "sexual orientation" and gender identity to legislation that already protects against hate crimes for race and religon. Although there has been a push for hate crimes legislation for almost a decade, it is believed that there is increased hope for this bill as a result of the new Democratic congress.

There are so many great things that the Human Rights Campagn is doing and fostering this legislation is just one of them.
